CEJI Facilitates Sessions on Peer Training during Beit Project’s “Living Together Olympiads”
27/06/2024
The Beit Project is a European and Mediterranean youth initiative that combines learning about historical heritage with the fight against racism, social exclusion, and discrimination. Their 2-day “Olympiads” in Marseille convened educators to create tools for their future student ambassadors. Cathy del Rizzo, CEJI’s Training Coordinator, offered her expertise in the development and benefits of peer training.
Peer education as an approach to discussing issues related to prejudice and discrimination is a key part of CEJI’s pedagogy. It supports young people in becoming agents of change in their own environments, raising awareness of anti-discrimination and social justice amongst their peers. Furthermore, it allows the development of soft skills such as self-confidence, effective communication, metacognitive abilities, or leadership.
