CEJI Launches French-language Trainings Combatting Antisemitism, Islamophobia, Anti-Black Racism and Hate Speech
June 24, 2025
With the support of the French Community Commission (COCOF), CEJI is pleased to organise a series of training courses in French against antisemitism, Islamophobia, anti-Black racism and hate speech for the staff of Brussels-based organisations working in the field of cultural diversity (social cohesion, youth or sports associations, CPAS, etc.).
All training courses are interactive and participatory and several time slots are offered for each theme from September through December 2025. The methodology used in the trainings is based on extensive research in the area of bias reduction and has been successfully implemented in schools, youth organisations and public authorities in many countries across Europe. It involves developing several key behaviours: empathy, self-esteem, critical thinking, cooperative learning, diverse environments and social action.
General objectives of the trainings
- Develop common practices in diversity education, encompassing concepts related to stereotypes, prejudices, anti-Black racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia and all forms of discrimination and their manifestations, particularly hate speech
- Develop the ability to recognise prejudices and discriminatory behaviours in oneself and others
- Develop and practice skills to deal with prejudice and discriminatory behaviour in oneself and others
- Contribute to creating an environment that respects cultural differences and equity, valuing everyone’s taking responsibility
