CEJI – a Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe is a leading independent Brussels-based anti-discrimination non-governmental organisation. Our vision is an inclusive and democratic Europe in which people enjoy their unique potential with all their diversity.
We develop educational programs that foster diversity and dialogue, undertake research action to improve policy and practice, and train change agents to help build networks and multiply impact.
Facing Facts
Training is a key for social transformation. It is at the heart of our project Facing Facts, an initiative created by CEJI – A Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe and co-funded by the European Commission. It focuses on combating hate crime and hate speech through training, advocacy and action research, and network collaboration. It is comprised of two main activities: The Facing Facts Network, a multi-stakeholder community of practitioners, and the e-learning platform Facing Facts Online.
Furthermore, hate speech legislation in Europe varies significantly from country to country due to differences in legal frameworks, cultural contexts, and historical backgrounds. Check here a presentation of hate speech legislation in EU countries.
SafeNet fact sheets
The 24-month project “SafeNet: Monitoring and Reporting for Safer Online Environments”, coordinated by the International Network against Cyber Hate (INACH) seeks to apply a comprehensive and intersectional approach to prevention and fight against intolerance, racism, and xenophobia online. SafeNet’s main goal is continuous monitoring of the IT platforms’ adherence to the Code of Conduct on countering illegal hate speech online. Our consortium will ensure qualitative and continuous monitoring in a period of two years of the IT platforms that are signatories of the Code of Conduct.
